Tombow USA and Avery Elle Blog Hop!

Hello friends!

Welcome to the Tombow USA and Avery Elle Blog Hop! You arrived here from Lauren Fitzmaurice's blog. If you stumbled across my blog make sure you start the hop party at the Avery Elle Blog.
My card today used Avery Elle's The Reef Clear Stamps along with the coordinating Reef  Elle-ments dies and the Coral Reef Elle-ments dies.   First I die cut the Coral Reef shapes from white card stock.  I colored them in with a Minc Reactive markers and applied silver and rose gold foil to the die cut shapes.

Next I stamped and embossed the seahorse from The Reef Stamp set and colored it with the Ironjiten Colored Pencil Set in Soft Primary. These are gorgeous waxed based colored pencils and it was so easy to add some soft color to the seahorse image.

I adhered the die cuts and images to a panel of watercolor paper that I had sponged with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and Broken China.  I spritzed and mopped up water to create that droplet effect.  I stamped the sentiment with black in and adhered it to a light gray card base.

Avery Elle + Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop

Hello friends,

Happy Tuesday!  I am thrilled to be participating today in a blog hop with Avery Elle + Pretty Pink Posh.  The teams have joined forces to provide two days of ideas, inspiration, and prizes. You should have arrived here today from Liz Sarkisyan's blog

My card today features Avery Elle's Butterfly stamp set and coordinating dies along with Pretty Pink Posh's Scallop Circle dies

First I die cut the larger Scallop Circle from a panel of white cardstock.  I saved the frame and adhered the panel and frame to a white card base.  I really love the look of white layers and the stitching and scallop features of he die give it just enough texture and dimension to help it stand out.
I stamped, die cut and colored the butterflies using Copic markers and placed them inside the circle frame.

I stamped the sentiment with black ink and added a few sequins from the Sparkling Clear Sequin mix as a finishing touch.

Prizes!
You can't have a blog hop without prizes, so there are two $25.00 Pretty Pink Posh gift certificates and two $25.00 Avery Elle gift certificates up for grabs.  To enter, just leave a comment on the participating designers' blog posts.  Comments must be left by July 24, 2016 and Winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh blog and Avery Elle blog

Your next stop on the hop is Nichol Spohr Magouirk!

Wild Birthday Card and Treat Bag {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card and bag topper featuring the Wild Birthday stamp set and the Large Treat Bag Topper Ellements die.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

The Wild Birthday stamp set features the cutest bunch of animals that you would every want to see.  I love the whimsical look of this set- it's perfect for celebrations.  I made my card and bag topper with celebrations in mind, by loosely coloring in the images with Copic markers.  This loose coloring not only saves time, but money too as fewer markers are needed to achieve the effect.

To support the coloring book feel of the card and treat bag, I stamped the background using the images in the set with kraft ink.  By arranging all the images on a large stamp block, I was able to cover the bag and card in no time flat!

Supplies:

Well that's all for me today, but I do hope that you will stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team.

Bloom Where You're Planted {Waffle Flower Challenge}

Hello friends,

Happy Monday and happy Independence Day to my US friends.  A new month means a new Waffle Flower Challenge and here is this month's inspiration photo:

So fun, right?  I was inspired by the fun, bright colors in the inspiration photo as well as the arrangement of items on that side table. I pulled out my Planted Stamp Set, and with some simple masking and Waffle Flower’s new dye inks, I created a summery arrangement of plants and pots. All of my Waffle Flower Crafts supplies are listed below.

I started my stamping the pink pots in the foreground, masked them and then stamped the plants in the background.  The striped bowl also got a mask so I could stack him with another bowl and tuck him among the other larger pots.

When it came to stamping the plants, I overstamped them by stamping them first with the Chirp Chirp (green) ink and then with You Said What (yellow).  The dye inks combined to make pretty new shades just using  what I had on hand.  The tall plant was stamped twice with green and once with yellow while the aloe looking plant was stamped once with green and twice with yellow.  You could use a stamp positioner to get super precise results, but I just eye-balled it and stamped using acrylic blocks.
Supplies:

I hope you are inspired to play along with this month's challenge.  You can find all the details, including the rules and how to link up here.  Be sure to check out the inspiration from the Waffle Flower Design Team each Monday on the Waffle Flower blog.

Band Camp and a Winner! {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  I can't believe it's July.  Time just flies. Before I share my Avery Elle card this week, I have a little unfinished business to take care of.  Back in May, I offered a giveaway of the Hats Off stamp set, and then I promptly went on vacation for a couple weeks without selecting and notifying a winner- yikes! I am so sorry and will do better next time.

Anyway, without, further ado, the winner was number 8, Amy C! Amy, please send me a note with your mailing address and I will get this set out to you. My email is scrappy_diva (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Ok, unfinished business aside, I have a bright and colorful card on the Avery Elle blog today using the Band Camp stamp set and coordinating dies.  All my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

To create the rainbow background, I blended several shades of Distress Ink onto a panel of Distress Watercolor Paper.  The ink shades are Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet.  Next, I spray water droplets onto the panel and blotted with a paper towel to get that cool bleach dot effect.

With so much color happening in the background, I decided to keep the rest of the card pretty simple.  I die cut a panel using the Dotted Borders Ellements die and adhered that over the blended ink background adhering it to the panel with foam tape. I stamped the "Marching By To Say" sentiment onto the white cardstock before adhering it to the panel.

Next, I stamped and die cut all the darling critters from the Band Camp stamp set.  Since it's a parade, I also stamped and die cut their little hats so it's all quite official and proper.

Supplies:

Well that's all for me today.  For those in the US, I hope you have a safe and happy holiday weekend!  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle Design Team.
