Magical Unicorn Birthday Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the Be A Unicorn stamp set.   Be a Unicorn is one of my favorites from this latest release, and since we attend lots of birthday parties for my daughter's friends- it's a set that will come in super handy!!  All the Avery Elle supplies used on this card are linked below.

First, I stamped and die cut the unicorn with a light colored hybrid ink and colored it with Copic Markers. Next, I die cut white cardstock with the Pierced Cloud Ellements dies and created a rainbow road using Avery Elle's new Baker's Twine and some 1" score tape.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink and added the unicorn to the clouds with foam tape. I attached the cloud panel to a note card from the Caribbean Collection and added a few clear sequins as a finishing touch.

Well, that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for more inspiration from the Avery Elle Design Team.

:) Emoji Fun {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today sharing a round up of inspiration that's giving me all the feels... that's right, emojis!

For my emoji inspired card, I paired the Doily Square die with the Warm Wishes stamp set to create all these happy faces.  I stamped the cheek circles on one of the faces and colored it in with a red Copic marker.

Alignment can be tricky when using repetitive elements, so I used a little trick to help me place my emojis.  First, I centered and stamped the sentiment on the bottom third of the card.  The sentiment is from the Tiger and Lily stamp set- I thought it worked really well for all these smiling emojis.

I centered one of the faces above the "i" in "smile" and then used the four circle negative to space the remaining faces.  It was so simple and used something that might have been headed straight for the recycling bin.

I love how all these happy faces look on this cheerful card!  I'd love for you to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more emoji inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

National Craft Month Celebration Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

Today, I am super excited to be participating in Right at Home's National Craft Month blog hop on behalf of Avery Elle.  Dozens of designers are participating in today's hop to share ideas and inspiration and celebrate a month dedicated to crafting.

What's a blog hop without prizes?  Jamie from Avery Elle is offering a $25.00 gift certificate to one of the lucky winners. For instructions on how to enter, just visit the Right at Home blog

I have two projects to share with you today using some stamp set's from Avery Elle's latest release. A full list of the Avery Elle products I used on both of these cards is below.

First up, is a card featuring the Best Ever stamp set.  Best Ever is a fantastic stamp set for celebrating so many important people in your life- from family (including in-laws) to others who are just like family including teachers and coaches.  For my card, I made a Coach Thank You card by pairing Best Ever with the Hats Off stamp set.

I stamped the hands at the very bottom of the white card stock panel and added the caps as if the players were tossing them in the air.  I colored the images with Copic markers and added a bit of Sapphire twine as a finishing touch.

For my next card, I went all soft and springy with the Banner and Wreath stamp set. I stamped the wreath in with hybrid ink in Natural and stamped and die cut the flowers, banner and bird with the same ink.  Lighter ink almost disappears when color is added.  For this card, I added color using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

Totally Awesome Birthday Card {Avery Elle}

Hello again,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the Stoked stamp set and die.  I was so excited to see this set included in Avery Elle's new release because, let's face it, cards for boys can be tricky.  Stoked it the perfect mix of adventurous, cool, and cute- whether your kid is a rocker, a snowboarder or a skateboarder, Stoked has got you covered. All of the Avery Elle supplies I used on my card are linked below.

I covered a card with the sapphire doodle star paper from the Everyday Collection patterned paper pad.  Next, I die cut a piece of gray card stock with one of the dies from the Custom Panel Elle-ments to create a skateboard ramp.

I stamped and die cut the skateboarder and word bubble, coloring in the boy with Copic Markers.  I adhered the die cuts to the card and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Supplies:

Well, that's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team. Have a wonderful weekend!

Lots of Lacy Flowers {Waffle Flower Crafts}

 Hello friends,

Two of my favorite items from Waffle Flower Craft's latest release are the Lacy Flower Dies and the Lacy Flower Mats Dies.  These products are meant to coordinate together but are also strong enough to stand on their own.

My first two cards here used the Lacy Flower Mats Dies. I have a bit of a crafty confession... I didn't even snip these dies apart to make these simple flower cards.  The flower centers sentiments were created using the Flower Circles stamp set and the Congrats stamp set.

This next card uses the Lacy Flower Dies all on their own to create a delicate card- perfect for a bridal shower or a wedding.  I embossed the sentiment from the Lacy Flower stamp set with gold embossing powder for a little extra touch of elegance.

My final card uses the Lacy Flower dies and mats together.  I adhered the layers together and adhered them to a panel of watercolor paper. The sentiment is from the Lacy Flowers stamp set and a few sequins offer a finishing touch.

Well that's all for me today, but I hope these cards demonstrated the versatility of these Lacy Flower and Lacy Flower mats dies.

Happy Woodland Wishes {Avery Elle}

Hello again, :)

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the new Woodland Wonders stamp set and die.  All of the Avery Elle supplies I used on my card are linked below.

I wanted this card to have a soft look, so I stamped the images with a light colored hybrid ink before adding color with Copic Markers.  I stamped and die cut the owl and the banner with the same light ink- I really love how the light ink gives the images an almost storybook quality.

I die cut the panel with the Pierce Banner Layers Ellements die before attaching it to a notecard from The Midnight Collection.  I tucked a bit of patterned paper from The Neutral Collection behind the panel so a few row of those cutie hearts could peek out.

Pantone's Colors of the Year {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with a round up of inspiring images featuring the Pantone Institute's  2016 Colors of the Year- Serenity and Rose Quartz.

When the colors were first announced, I was skeptical.  "Come on, pink and blue?" I thought.  And then there's this...

And this...

Amiright? I tried to keep an open mind, and upon further examination I found that it is a combination that's surprising versatile- mod, classic, timeless and trendy.  I think I'm a fan.

I decided to play with Rose Quartz and Serenity in my card below.  First I die cut a white card stock panel with the outermost Lacy Layers die.  Next, I stamped one of the feather images from the Feather More stamp set in light blue and light pink ink.  To keep that card from looking too sugary sweet and to give it a bit of edginess, I spatted some black ink over the stamped images.

I decided that the card needed even more neutrals, so I introduced silver/gray through the sentiment.  I die cut the Awesome word die onto a shimmery silver paper and stamped the sentiment from the In Every Way stamp set onto a circle cut with the Flower Circles die set.

Before adhering the sentiment to the card with a bit of foam tape, I added some metallic silver thread using the foam tape to keep the thread in place. A few clear sequins add a finishing touch.

Well that's all for me today, but I do hope that you will stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more Color of the Year inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to add: The ink colors I used are Hero Art's Passion Flower (don't let the purple case fool you, this is PINK ink) Altenew's Sea Glass, and Hero Arts Soft Granite.
