Madly in Love {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the new Tree Elle-ments die and the Favorite Person stamp set.   All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

The Tree Elle-ments die is so stinking clever.  You can use it to build your own tree and pair it with other dies in the set to customize your tree.  On my card, I used the heart carving and added my hubby and my initials using the Elle's Alpha stamp set. I think this card will be perfect for our anniversary in February.

Sending Smiles {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

Happy Friday!  I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing an idea using the new Rocky Shores Elle-ments die. All of my Avery Elle supplies used on this card are linked below.

 I paired the die with the Hello Chum stamp set and coordinating dies to create an under the sea look.  I love the versatility of the die- it can be used to create a scene under the sea or on dry land.  The craggy cuts and the grass dies were really thoughtful additions to the die set.  I had fun tucking sea grass and coral shapes into the crevices of the ocean floor.  It really makes the rocky shape pop!

The watery background was created by blending distress inks onto a panel of watercolor card stock. The shark and fishy friends were colored with Copic Markers.

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more fun inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

You are my Fairy Tale {Avery Elle}

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it's already Friday!  Is your December just flying by?  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the new Swans stamp set.  Links to all my Avery Elle supplies are below.

When I saw this stamp set, it reminded me of an old fashioned Tunnel of Love ride that you might see at a vintage amusement park, so I tried to create that look using the Swim Team dies along with the Double Pierced Circle dies.

I colored the couple and heart swag with Copic markers and stamped the sentiment on a banner from the Pierced Banner Elle-ments set.

Supplies:

Well that's all for me, but please be sure to check out the Avery Elle blog for more information from the Avery Elle design team.

Wood you send Hedgehugs and Kisses? {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I have some Avery Elle inspiration to share with you x2 today!  I have been having so much fun playing with Avery Elle's new winter release.  These darling critter stamp sets are among my favorites.

First up, I have a card using the new Hedgehugs stamp set.  I combined it with an older Avery Elle stamp set called Sending You.  I love being able to mix in older sets with newer sets- so many additional possibilities! All of my Avery Elle supplies used on each card are linked below.

I colored the hedghogs with Copic markers and added them to a panel of card stock with I watercolored using distress inks.

Supplies:
New Moon Dye Ink Pad

My second card used the Wood You stamp set.  I combined it with the new Tree Elle-ments die.  The Tree Elle-ments die is so innovative. Here, I have one of the beavers popping out of a log, but there are so many uses for this die.  I know I'll be reaching for it again and again.

The beavers were colored in using Copic markers and the background was blended using Distress Ink.

Hang in There {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

TGIF! I wanted to pop in to share with you a card that I have up on the Avery Elle blog today.

Over the weekend, I attended a crafty retreat with my crafty girlfriends.  I had so much fun making cards with Avery Elle's newest release, and I can't wait to share my cards with you in the coming weeks!! This week, I'm using the Hang In There stamps and coordinating dies along with some other Avery Elle supplies.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

I die cut the cat shape and basket from white card stock and added shading with Distress Inks before stamping the details.  To create the hot air balloon, I die cut 4 pierced hearts, scored them in the center and adhered them together to create a fun dimensional element.  I used twine to connect the balloon to the basket.

Avery Elle Winter 2016 Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share with you the first of my projects made with Avery Elle's Winter 2016 Release!  The Winter Release is available now in the Avery Elle store.  There are so many fun, cute and clever stamps and dies in this release perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day and beyond!

For my card, I used the Love Puffin stamp set, coordinating Love Puffin Elle-ments dies and the Rocky Shores Elle-ments die.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

I started by creating the blended ink background using three shades of Distress Ink: Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar, and Tumbled Glass on Distress Specialty Stamping paper. This paper has a coating that makes ink blending a breeze.  The Spun Sugar (pink) between the yellow and blue helped to prevent the sky from turning green when the colors were blended together.

Next, I created the background using the Rocky Shores Elle-ments die. I die cut the craggy lines into the larger rock formation so that the little tufts of grass could peek out.  I love this little detail- it really adds a lot to what could be a very basic shape.

I stamped and die cut the Puffins and adding some shading using Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment and added a couple final details using the rocks and birds included in the Love Puffin stamp set.

Supplies:

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2016 {Avery Elle}

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to be participating in Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags on behalf of Avery Elle.  For me, Christmas crafting is all about VOLUME!  Lots of items for lots of people means mass production in my world.  When in mass production mode, I like to keep it simple. With the help of the Comfort and Joy stamp set from Avery Elle's 2016 Holiday collection, I made a whole rainbow heap of Christmas Tags.

I die cut card stock in a variety of colors using Avery Elle's Circle Tag Elle-ments, stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Since I am mass producing the tags, I kept the rest of the tag decoration pretty simple using up some items from my holiday crafting stash including silver jingle bells and tiny cookie cutter charms which I tied to the tags with Avery Elle's baker's twine.   These were super simple to make and I love how they look together!

Here's a closer look at the tags:

Well that's it for me today, but I'm well on my way to having my 2016 Holiday Tags completed!  Be sure to stop by Tracey's blog for more Christmas tag inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

A Christmas Chalet {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

It's Fri-yay!!! Woo-hoo!  It's been a busy week around here. I'm still a little sleep deprived from watching lots of baseball,  but I had to pop in super quick to share my latest Avery Elle card using the Chalet stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.

The Chalet stamp set reminds me of a picture perfect holiday home that you might see in a snow globe.  I tried to capture that feeling by making a shaker backdrop for the card.  The house and tree were colored in using Copic Markers and I added some Stickles to the roof, window sills and tree to create a little snowy sparkle.  All of the Avery Elle supplies I used on this card are linked below:

That's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for more ideas and inspiration.  I will be back next week with a card to share using Avery Elle's new Winter Release!  I'm excited to show you all the cute and clever things in store for in the coming months!

Santa Approved Holiday Treats {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a cute treat box and tag using Avery Elle's Sweet Tidings stamp set and Treat Tag Box and Tag Elle-ments.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

To start, I die cut the 2 of the box dies from red card stock and assembled the box using a bit of score tape.  Next I trimmed a strip of black card stock and wrapped it around the box adding a gold square to make Santa's belt buckle.

The tag was pretty simple- just stamping the sentiment onto the tag and coloring the edge and insides of the letters using Copic markers.  I added some chocolate chip cookies wrapped in clear plastic to the little box and they are set to go for coworkers, friends, or even the big man himself!

Elf-tacular North Pole Pals {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the cuties from the Elf-tacular and North Pole Pals stamps sets.  As always, all of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below. :)

To start, I did some ink blending on Distress Speciality card stock using Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Distress Inks. I used a baby wipe to blend the two colors together and even out the blending lines.  Next I die cut the Falling Snow Die onto the blended card stock.  Typically, I will use this die multiple times to completely cover the card stock, but this time I only die cut it once as I wanted to leave some room at the top to stamp my sentiment using black Staz-On ink.   The final step in the background was to add a couple snow drifts using the Dotted Borders Elle-ments dies.

I stamped and die cut the Elf, Mr and Mrs Claus and one of the Reindeers and colored in the images using Copic Markers.  They make a super cute Christmas family don't you think?

Caroling Critters Christmas Card {Avery Elle}

Hello and happy Friday!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the adorable Caroling Critters stamp set. Links to the Avery Elle products I used are below.

I stamped all the animal images and the lamp post onto Copic-friendly paper and colored the images using Copic markers.  I added small highlights using a white gel pen and die cut the images using the Caroling Critters Elle-ments dies.

Next I built a setting for the carolers using the Dotted Border Elle-ment dies and a piece of diagonal striped patterned paper from the Jewel Collection 6x6 paper pad.

I arranged and adhered the animals to the card using some pop dots to adhere the singing fox for a little extra dimension.  I needed a spot for my sentiment, so I stamped it onto a small rectangle of white card stock and adhered it to the card.

Supplies:

That's it for me today, but I do hope that you will stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration and ideas from the Avery Elle design team.

A Round Up of Waffle Flower Inspiration + my very first videos {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

Each Thursday, I create a project to share on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog where I pair an older Waffle Flower stamp set or die and combine it with items from newer releases. It's our version of #ThrowbackThursday or #TBT as it's called nowadays.  Anyway, I realized that I have been remiss in sharing some of my projects here, so I thought I would bring you up to speed in my wonderful world of Waffle Flower.

I used the new Gift Bag Die with a couple of the Surface Tag Die add ons- the Santa Add On and the Scallop Add OnVisit this post on the Waffle Flower Blog for more details.

 Next, I took another look at the new Wild and Free stamp set and paired it with one of Waffle Flower Craft’s very early stamp sets- Loved. I love how pretty the images look stamped in Waffle Flower inks. Click here for more details.

For my next card,  I used the Little Gifts stamp set with the newly released Little Gifts 3D die. I combined these coordinating products with theTrick or Treat stamp set and the Tiny Pumpkin Face die. You can read more about my process here

Last week, Waffle Flower released my very first card video on their YouTube channel.  In the video, I combine the new Stitched Heart dies along with the Flutter Stamp Set by creating a fun and unique String Art Heart Card.  You can watch below or on the Waffle Flower YouTube Channel.

And that brings us to today and up to date where I'm sharing a card made with the new Cutaway Alpha stamp set and the Flutter Stamp set. Watch below or on the Waffle Flower Channel.

So that's it for me today, but I sure hope that you will check in on me and the rest of the inspiration team on the Waffle Flower blog and YouTube channel for more creative ideas.

Here's the card in motion... Seriously so cool!

Kitschy Christmas Card {Avery Elle}

Hello everyone,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a sweet reindeer card using the Kitsch Christmas stamp set.  I have a complete list of my Avery Elle supplies linked below.

So, I have a bit of a crafty confession, I have a hard time seeing deers around the holidays and not transforming them into Rudolph, so this poor deer got a red pearl on his nose against a pink and white snowy background.

I colored the deer with my Zig Clean Color brush markers and die cut him using the coordinating Kitsch Christmas Elle-ments dies.  I stamped the sentiment in raspberry ink onto a snow drift and before adhering the panel to the note card, I sponged the edges of the pink cardstock with white pigment ink.

Avery Elle Holiday Inspiration

Hello friends,

I'm popping in today (admittedly a bit tardy) to share a couple cards that were featured on the Avery Elle blog this week. This week's been a doozy between a work conference which meant a few late nights and recovering from my youngest daughter's 9th birthday which took up all of my bandwidth the previous weekend.  Anyway, I'm just happy to be here!

First, a card featuring the Christmas Packages stamp set and coordinating dies. All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

I love new stamps as much as the next girl, but what I really love is when a new stamp inspires me to pull out and play with a previously loved stamp set and that's what happened with the Christmas Packages stamp set!  I pulled out the Oh What Fun stamps set and dies from last year's holiday release and made a scene where Santa was holding a large pile of gifts!

I die cut the Falling Snow die directly onto my note card and I didn't back it with anything, so it shows through to the inside of the card which I covered with white card stock.  This was sort of different for me, but I really liked the look.

Next, a card using the Holiday Glass stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder and then colored them in using Zig Clean Color brush markers.  The sentiment is from the Comfort and Joy stamp set and I thought that the little scalloped border using the Dotted Border Elle-ments die.

Die: Dotted Borders Elle-ments

So that's all for me today, but I thank you for stopping by and please drop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team.

Until next time!

STAMPtember Avery Elle Exclusive

Hello friends,

I am so excited to introduce you to the newest stamp in Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember celebration.  A collaboration with Avery Elle called Christmas Cheer and I made a couple samples to share with you today.

For my first card, I paired the stamp set with bright watercolor pigments from Gansai Tambi. After allowing the panel to dry, I stamped and heat embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder and stamped a few of the snowflakes again using regular dye ink to add a little depth and dimension.

I die cut the panel with Avery Elle's Wonky Stitches Ellements die and adhered it to a bright pink note card.

For my second card, I went more muted in shades of mint and silver.  I die cut this panel using the Finished Frames Ellements die.

I love how you can get a different look just by swapping out the watercolor colors! I used Versafine Black to stamp the sentiments on both cards.  The sentiments that Jamie designed for the set are just beautiful too and suitable for many types of holiday celebrations.

You can pick up the stamp set here and there is also a version with coordinating dies available here.  For all the details and even more inspiration, please check out the Simon Says Stamp blog.
